Understanding companies, contacts, and partners in Kombiner

Summary

Kombiner organizes professional customers using two key concepts:

  • Companies
  • Contacts

This structure allows you to manage B2B customers in a clean and scalable way.

Companies

A Company represents a business entity such as:

  • Retailers
  • Distributors
  • Dealers
  • Partners
  • Professional clients

Each company acts as a container for the people who work at that organization.

Typical company information includes:

  • Company name
  • Address
  • Country
  • VAT number
  • Contact information
  • Default discounts or pricing rules

Companies are used to organize your professional customers and ensure that orders, quotes, and contacts are grouped correctly.

Contacts

A Contact represents a person working at a company.

Examples include:

  • Store managers
  • Buyers
  • Sales representatives
  • Partners

Each contact contains personal information such as:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email
  • Phone number

Contacts are always linked to a Company.

Why this structure matters

Separating companies and contacts helps maintain a structured B2B environment.

For example:

A retailer may have multiple employees placing orders.

Example structure:

Company
Nordic Interior ApS

Contacts
Anna Jensen – Buyer
Peter Larsen – Store manager
Maria Olsen – Sales assistant

All orders from these users will be linked to the same company.

Inviting contacts to the B2B shop

Contacts can be given access to your B2B shop.

To do this:

  1. Create a Contact
  2. Assign the contact to a Company
  3. Click Invite to shop

The contact will receive an activation email and can then sign in.

Benefits of the company/contact structure

Using this structure allows you to:

  • Manage multiple users per company
  • Track orders per business customer
  • Apply company-specific discounts
  • Maintain clear customer relationships

It also makes reporting and order management easier.

Important notes

  • A contact must belong to a company.
  • Multiple contacts can belong to the same company.
  • Orders are typically linked to the company, not just the individual user.
